Family Tree

Named for their forward-pointing pubis bone that resembled modern lizards. This lineage gave rise to both the giant long-necked herbivores and the fierce carnivores — and survives today as birds.

Despite the name, these are not the ancestors of birds. Their backward-pointing pubis resembled modern birds. Almost all were herbivores, from armored tanks to horned browsers.
